In today's commercialized world you can't go outside anywhere without some sort of celeb exposure, from hilton to richie to lohan. They're everywhere (even unexpectedly showing up on covers like Nylon) and we know everything about them! Society seems to feed off this excessive celeb culture to the extent it has become a cult. We know more details about these stranger celebs than we know about our own neighbors. WHY are we so obsessed with this startlet and HOW are is it compromising society all together?!?
This celeb and tabloid fascinates and emphasizes 'beauty' and fame over noble qualities like in intelligence, hardwork and overall ethics society claims to base itself. We are dwindling our culture down to threads and threads are innovative but are becoming more and more the threads of celeb turned designer. are they replacing the fashion industry? Check out Eric Wilson's article presenting an interesting perspective between Lim verus the Olsens Stealing the Scene Along with the Store
AND if we want to focus on celebs why no turn to those with a little more character, talent and overall purpose in their life... and if all else fails flee to europe!
